Wheelwright’s wheel hub reamer used to fit a segmented wooden hub to a forged wagon axel. Handle is approximately 12” long and shaft/blade is about 15”. Even if a segmented hub was available to fit the wheel it still had to be fitted to the axel. Just looking at it helps appreciate standardized parts and lug nuts.
