This one is a type 18, used only from 1946 to 1947. It will functionally fit a type 16-19 plane body. Includes all parts of the frog shown (complete). Stanley Plane Tall Front Knob For No. 5-1/2, 6, 7, 8 Type 18 (1946-1947)

An Excellent Stanley plane tall front knob for a No. 5-1/2, 6, 7, and 8. It is a type 18 version produced between 1946 and 1947 which is hardwood (not rosewood) with a black finish. An Excellent type 18 Stanley No. 6 Plane Body. 95% Japanning. It will also work with type 16 parts. Unless otherwise noted, parts have not been cleaned beyond this. Stanley Bailey No. 6 plane, corrugated bottom, Type 18 (ca 1946-1947)

This is a very nice Stanley Bailey No. 6 plane. There are no cracks to be found anywhere, both knob and tote are in excellent condition, iron has been sharpened to a hair shaving edge. Japanning finish is in great shape, however, previous owner appears to have touched up a couple of areas.
