Once the holes are drilled heat the item and use acold chisel or similar tool to split the piece. Once split, heat the piece againand drive the drift through the hole. Tap the sides of the workpiece while continuing to drive the drift into the workpiece until the drift gets to the desired masurement. Several times heating are needed to get the desired shape.
