Vintage Appalachian Handforged Adze/Grub Hoe Head Primitive

This Adze head also known as a grub hoe was handforged sometime in the early 1900’s on my family’s farm deep in the Appalachian mountains. For its age and the amount it’s probably been used over the years it’s in excellent shape with rust being the only thing wrong with it. This is a true primitive farm tool from the old days. VTG Pulaski 5.5 Lbs Axe Grub Hoe CUTTER MATTOCK Mining Farm Fire Railroad Head

This axe head is in good solid condition with no major issues. The axe edge may need a little TLC to bring it back to a sharper splitting edge(as seen in photos) This head does have markings on it that I am unable to read and patent numbers that I can read. Patent numbers #214. Overall length is approximately 12 inches long and 3.5 inches wide at widest part centre hole is 2.5 long and 1.5 inches wide. Nice solid sturdy piece with no chips or cracks and will only need a sharpening in order to perform at it full abilities. Axe head has been cleaned of any rust.
