Vintage ECH Tool Co. cast iron 90 degree 4″ square ceramic tile clamping vise–used to hold a tile while cutting a hole, in the center using a backing hammer so that it would not break while doing so. Outer dimensions are about 6 3/8 inches square–it is about 3/4 inches thick—the internal working size is about 4 inches square. NOTE: I am indebted to a viewer for informing me what this tool was used for–he used a similar tool over 50 years ago when doing tile work.
