H. Disston & Sons 20″ Backsaw for Langdon Miter Box Co. – Circa 1910 – VGC

The etch on this saw is very clear – “H. Disston & Sons” , Phila. – the steel back is clearly marked “Langdon Miter Box Co.”, Millers Falls, Mass.. The saw is 20″ long and 3 1/2″ wide below the back. The handle is missing a sliver on the top horn – very good otherwise. The plate is VERY straight – 11TPI and bright with some staining – needs cleaning and sharpening to provide a lifetime of service. The handle design and the medallion dates this saw circa 1910. All in all a great saw, especially for being over 110 years old. Thanks for looking – if you have a few minutes, I have many other tools listed among the items in my Ebay store, including other nice saws. (LS/Brn Shelf – 1022)

H. Disston & Sons #4 28″ Miter Box Saw/ Backsaw – 11TPI – Circa 1910 – VGC

The handle on this saw looks to be apple – it has a small sliver missing on the bottom horn (pic shows clearly). The saw is perfectly straight and the plate is more bright than not but needs a thorough cleaning and sharpening – I have done nothing to it since it came to me. The length is 28″ and the width below the steel back is 3 3/4″. The handle design and the medallion dates the birth of this saw to around 1910. Cleaned and tuned, this will be a great saw and it will provide a lifetime of use if you have the miter box for it. Thanks for looking – if you have a few minutes, I have many other tools listed among the items in my Ebay store, including other saws. (LS/ Brn Shelf – 1022)
