Vintage pre permabond Collins 3 1/2 M Double bit axe with the original hardwood handle. There is a Collins label still on the handle. Total length is 34 1/2” and 10” wide. Blades measure 4 3/4”. Up for sale, is a used, vintage, COLLINS single bit boy’s axe. Actual weight (with handle) = 39.4 oz. The head is 5 3/4″ in length, with a cutting edge of 3 1/2″. From the top of the head to the end of the handle is approximately 26 1/2″. The handle looks to be a decent replacement. The head is used with some minor staining and signs of past use and wear. This is vintage and estate found; Pre-owned. There is normal signs of wear/tear and weathering/oxidation throughout that is consistent with its age. Looks sturdy and ready for use after a nice sharpening. No cracks in the handle. Being sold exactly as picture above. this is a vintage collins legitimus axe head it is marked 3 1/2 on back which is weight the axe. blade is roughly 4-1/2 and total length is roughly 9 in. it does show wear rust smash marks gouges dings dents etc from age. it was sitting in a old barn for many years. selling as is as seen. great for collector. thanks for viewing.
