Indestro 6272 3/8 Inch Square Drive Ratchet 1960s-1980s

Duro and Indestro did well through the 1940s and 50s, but faltered in the 1960s. The 6272 Ratchet appeared in the 1960s, but it does not appear in the 1961 Catalog, available on Archive.org. The earliest we could find it was in 1969.

D – I, Duro-Indestro 1/4 Drive 12pt Socket, no model number, size 11/32in., made in USA. Online reference indicates likely wartime production (1940s) for “D – I” sockets. No owner engravings noted in a quick check. See photos for detail. Original NOS from an old tool store’s inventory that’s been repainted. The arm hole centers measure 4-1/4″ when facing in, and 5-3/4″ when turned around and facing out.
