Note: D-527 is my inventory # only. In my opinion I think these are better than the famous Ohio made Grip N Stik! How often do you see the price of a tool stamped on it from the factory back in the day? Here is a vintage used pair of Eifel forged sliding-jaw geared wrench pliers. They are the 8-1/2″ size. There is a 47-8 # on it. They have a 10-1 leverage ratio factory stamped on it as well as the original $6.00 price! These are U.S.A. made by the American Plier Wrench Corporation from Chicago, Ill. The patent #’s on this pair are: 1181651 & 1862817 (this one comes up in a Google search of patents. Patent was filed in 1931 and granted in 1932). These pliers you adjust the jaw in the size range you want by sliding it and then letting it engage with the with the rack and pinion up to about a 1-1/2″ gripping capacity while the jaw is engaged firmly. Open the right handle all the way to release the engagement and move/adjust the sliding jaw. There are no owner engravings on them, just normal usage marks. NOTES ABOUT MY TOOLS:All tools are cleaned by hand only – NO power tools used.Mechanism are oiled and lubricated and will be working perfectly unless specified.Tools will often have a light coat of oil or tool wax when sent, they may be slightly greasy on first touch.99% of tools listed are MADE IN THE USA, manufacturer origins will always be listed if known. Basically I clean the tools and remove rust and/or surface corrosion.Oil and get the mechanisms working perfectly.Give the metal a light polish.Finish with light oil or wax for protection.
