NO.60-1/2 Low angle block renovated and refined. Cuts very nicely.
This is a 60 1/2 Jorgenson Low angle block plane that I gave a new look along with improving its cut. I gave the body several coats of Burnt Orange enamel and then the lever cap was painted a metallic grey. I flattened the bottom of the sole, flattened the back side of the iron and then sharpened the iron with a micro bevel all the way to 16,000 on a Shapton glass stone and then it was stropped. While I had it apart, I made sure that all of the moving pieces are working smoothly and that the iron sat securely against the inside of the shoe. I thought this was a great cutting little plane before but now I think it looks and cuts much nicer. Please take a look at the pictures, this is the exact plane you will be purchasing. Depending on feedback, I may buy another and do this again.

Stanley No. 60-1/2 low angle block plane, cast iron with japanned finish. Depth adjuster turns smoothly. Iron shows light surface staining, no pitting. Disclosed repair: the casting has a professionally repaired crack at the toe, visible as a brass-brazed seam (see photos).

The casting has been corrected and lapped. The blade back was lapped flat to ensure a great edge. The bevel was corrected and hand sharpened to 10000 grit. Since this is NOT the original blade, the fit is not exact.
