If you own a torch, you need this! No, I am not exaggerating. The ideal gift for every handy man, plumber, do-it-yourselfer or maker. I have been using this in my workshop for several years now and it still impresses me every time I reach for the torch – and especially when I set it back down. This base turns the constant disappointment of crashing torches into steadfast reliability. Whether you do plumbing or just keep a torch around the shop, this base provides superior stability on uneven surfaces and even on minor obstructions, like small pebbles and common construction debris. The wide base combined with a minimal footprint help your torch step over obstructions and keep a solid footing, like tripod in miniature. It has a raised design with 3 points of contact to ensure maximum stability. Gaps in the base help overcome many minor obstructions and help prevent suction on wet surfaces. The semi flexible TPU material ensures the base can take a beating and grips the torch tightly. It features a number of pockets designed to fit solder, flux, a small pipe cutter tool, flux brushes, markers or some cleaning tools. This torch base solves nearly every thing I hated about plumbing work in a single, simple package. Everything I really need to do a plumbing job is right there, every time, all the time. Since then, I have done very little plumbing work, but I do use a torch around the shop almost daily. I mostly keep the torch around to clean up 3D printed parts like these torch bases. So yes, I do use this thing every time I make another. It could very well be the best thing I have invented so far. If you have used a torch a lot then deep down you know that whenever you go to set it down you are already expecting it to fall over; that is the default, but not anymore.
