Wm Marples And Sons Hibernia Works Sheffield Antique Wood Brass Bit Brace

A genuine Wm Marples & Sons brace from their Hibernia Works in Sheffield, the turned wooden frame fitted with brass strengthening plates at the joints and a brass roundel to the head bearing the maker’s name and the Hibernia harp mark. William Marples & Sons were among the foremost Sheffield toolmakers through the Victorian period, and this brace carries their distinctive branding throughout. Genuine age and wear, including a crack to the wooden brace that’s still structurally sound, along with patina to the wood and brass consistent with a working tool. Please look closely at the photographs for a full assessment.

A pair of antique planes. #5 is 14” Razee jack plane stamped “J. Frost Norwich” and the Iron has the stamp markings of Hibernia,Marples. #6 is 16.5 inches but I cannot find any markings/stamps on this one. *I am not a vintage tool expert and any info I have comes from Google so could be wrong! They look to be in good condition but I would suggest you looking at the photos for better information on these.
