From the estate if a man who collected American mallets and gave some info about them. He identified this as from the Maryland area, American, 1920s. It is 11 inches tall with a great patina. Turned hardwood. The rounded head has an age crack but it is still very solid. You can see the marks from hand carving on the side of the head. Typical scratches, marks of a long used antique tool.
