It is part No. MB-56 (leg), MB-57 (pair of leg screws), MB-98 (leveling screw), and MB-97 (length stop rod set screw). Very nice gray and red finish that Stanley used from 1949 to 1959. It is appropriate for a No. all mitre boxes with the No. 3 frame: 346, 358, and 360 from this era. This part is Stanley mitre box part No. It has a blue finish, which was used in the 1930’s. A previous owner has painted the tip red – likely for identification. The swivel is complete with all of the components.
Stanley No. 246 Mitre Box Saw Guide Front Assembly Complete – mjdtoolparts
An ORIGINAL COMPLETE FRONT SAW GUIDE ASSEMBLY for a Stanley No. 246 “small frame” cast iron mitre box by STANLEY. This assembly has a tapered base that is secured to the moveable arm of the mitre box by a large slotted screw that is included with the saw guide assembly. The front saw guide has a different release mechanism from the rear saw guide as it is triggered by a the saw trip clamp, rather than by lifting the saw. This example is excellent condition and it could be put directly to use restoring a Stanley No. 242, 244 or 246 mitre box, which all use the “small frame” mitre box, which has a maximum mitre joint cut of 5 1/2″ at 45 degrees.
