Up for sale is a super nice Stanley #6 type 11 hand plane. This one has the corrugated sole and it is flat. I say it’s an early model because it has the T logo iron, low knob, and the brass barrow nuts on the bolts. I have sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The iron is a little over 7 1/2″ long, close to factory length. The Japanning was very spotty on it so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley’s original factory recipe and baked it 5 times to set the Japanning. I think it looks great. I have also lapped the lever cap and chip breaker so they fit tight to the iron. The dark rosewood tote and knob are in great shape with no cracks or major chips or dings and show their original patina.

Up for sale is a super nice Stanley #4 type 10 hand plane(1907-1909). I say rare because you just don’t see type 10 planes very often up for sale, I’m not sure why. You see quite a few type 9’s but not many type 10’s.
