Vintage Antique Sargent 408 Smooth Wood Plane Type 2 . Lever marked “Pat’d Feb 3, 91”. Keyhole lever cap. Very nice plane. Most of the Jappaning still intact. Smallest chip in the top of the big handle. Missing brass screw cap on small knob handle. Blade marked, “Sargent & Co New Haven, Ct”. 9” long. Normal age wear, scuffs, scratches, paint, pitting, dirt, etc.

Sargent made this clone of the Stanley No. 100 from 1901 to 1943. Marked “105” in raised numbers on the bed behind the cutter. Great condition. Missing a patch of japanning on the rear handle, but looks great elsewhere.

SARGENT 407 NO.2 SIZE PLANE
This Sargent 407 is probably from the early 40’s. WW11 era as it’s a heavy casting with no brass. The condition is very good as seen in the photos. All finishes look original. The japanning is very nice.
