Antique wood tongue plane by Scioto Works marked Booth

Plane-Offered is an antique wood tongue plane marked Scioto Works, R. W. Booth, Cincinnati, O with a 82#. For 3/8″ tongue, cutter is clean with rust pitting marked Ohio Tool, Cast Steel Warranted. Toe, heel & fence ends have 3″ long brass inlays. Threads on front arm are stripped on fence side for approx. 1″ & the arm anchor to the fence has a split thru the middle, this would be an easy fix. Plane is clean, chip free with good nuts, handle & wedge. Measures 14 1/4″ long x 2 1/2″ wide. R. W. Booth was active in Cincinnati circa 1849-1879, marking rates a 2 star for rariety in rating book. Vintage Wooden Body Wood Plane Approximately 16 X 3 X 3 Inches

Large, old wooden body wood plane. One end has a manufacturers name, possibly Scioto Works. The plane measures approximately 16 inches long and roughly 3 inches square. I don’t know if the plane has the right blade in it or not. It is the one that was in it when I bought the plane at auction. Vintage Wooden Block Plane Scioto Works #3 l: 8″ w: 2.5″ h: 2.5″ Blade: 2″ NICE

Here we have:A friendly feeling small wooden plane, Complete with blade and wood wedge. It’s 8 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and high with a 2-inch wide blade. Nose of plane as SCIOTO WORKS and an inverted “3” stamped in (sorry, no pic). Blade has OHIO TOOL Co. and CAST STEEL and WARRANTED stamped in the top face (pic); cutting edge is okay, hasn’t pried nails up anyway. Top of blade has evidence of hammer blows, either from manufacture or usage. Bottom is smooth, corners have a few dings. Otherwise it has a beautiful age and work related patina. Friendly, like I mentioned. Wedge is complete and does press blade down nicely (pics). Good for use, collection or hoarding. Questions? Ask! Up for sale is this Fine User 19th Century Ca. 1893 Scioto Works 16″ Jack Plane Inv#BR104 This is marked on toe Scioto Works. The plane was made by The Ohio Tool Company. The heavy duty cutter is marked Ohio Tool Co Thistle Brand High Grade Steel, Auburn, NY USA and it measures 7-1/2″ x 2-1/4″. It has some pitting, dings, rust and could use sharpening. The plane has typical scars, hairlines behind cutter, nose & heel and dings, the tote has a nick at tip. The original wedge is in very nice shape. “Photos are an integral part of this item’s description.
