I am offering today this fine Antique Vintage Stewart, D. Nicholson 5/8″ Side Bead Moulding Plane Inv#AC114w Stewart was a well-known Edinburgh, Scotland planemaker from 1797 to 1848. This one has the “script” maker’s mark. It also has the user name of “D. Nicholson” on both toe, heel & cheek. (Not sure if this is a descendant of the very renowned F. Nicholson 1683-1753 of Wrentham family ???) Just a thought!! In any case this is a fine antique vintage 5/8″ clean side bead plane. The cutter measures approx: 7-1/8″ x 5/8″ W. This plane is in fine user condition. It is in “as found” condition and has a great patina…It weighs 13 oz. THIS PLANE WOULD MAKE A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR TOOLBOX OR WORKSHOP….
