This is a vintage General No. 830 8-inch try square, featuring a rosewood handle and steel blade. The handle is made of dense rosewood with brass plates and inlays. The blade is steel with a blued finish, graduated in 1/8-inch increments. It measures up to 8 inches in length. The circular brass inlay in the handle likely once held a manufacturer’s logo.
