Unusual Rare Billings & Spencer Chisel or Punch or ? Tool, Pat. Date Sept 1, 1903 Here is a very unusual Billings & Spencer tool. It looks like a chisel or punch of some kind but may have had another purpose. It says, The Billings & Spencer Co. with the B-Triangle symbol. The other side says, Patented Sept 1, 1903. There are ridges on one side as shown in photo. Condition is vintage with most of the wear at the tip. Patina is great. The total length is about 9¾ inches. The weight is 1 pound, 2.2 ounces. “Billings & Spencer began in 1869 as the Roper Sporting Arms Company, a partnership of Charles E. Billings and Christopher Spencer. Both founders were notable inventors, and Billings in particular was one of the pioneers of the drop forging process. The company’s early products were drop-forgings for the arms and sewing machine industries.Billings tools are generally easy to identify, and typically are marked with either the company name or the B-Triangle logo, or both. The use of the company name with a leading “THE” suggests a production date from 1915 to 1926.” Message me with any questions, need for additional photos or informing me of this tool’s purpose. The curved shape to the skate, and to the body on both sides of the skate. Width of the skate is about. 150″. The skate is held in place with rivets rather than screws. Condition is varied. The handle and body are in good condition, with lots of tooling marks in the wood especially the top of the handle.

Unusual / Rare Padlock w/ Bear Head, Cast Iron, Story, 1800s

I could not find another example. I see that it is similar / yet certainly different, to a crab lock style. On top looks like a bear head. The lower ‘hole’ with notch would slip over a screw or stud on the main part of the crate and when locked in place the lock would be secured in place and not ‘flop’ around.

Unusual 3/16″ cutter. The cutter is loose, the screw holding doesn’t move and I didn’t try very hard to break it loose because I wasn’t going to use it. From the looks of the slot in the screw others have tried a little harder.

Vintage Billhook, 7 inch edge, a very sturdy hook. This is very unusual !

This sturdy little hook is surprisingly heavy for its size. The handle has a fine crack but it is very sound and does not needing changing, it will last another 30 years or more.
