This is a vintage 14 1/2″ prefect handle screwdriver made by Irwin Tool Company, I believe Irwin was one of the manufacturers that supplied military tools during WWII. This screwdriver I believe was supplied for the WWII General Mechanics tools sets (GMTS) as part number 41-S-1078, in tool sets 41-T-3538, per ORD,6,SNL G-27 The screwdriver is stamped on the shaft IRWIN-US of A. The screwdriver has the split wood handles with the metal shank running all the way through the end. The handles are pin riveted on. The screwdriver is 14 1/2″ long and has a 1/2″ wide flat blade tip. The Screwdriver is in near New Old Stock Condition, has most of original coating on of metal parts…… has a couple of rubs, and some discoloration spots,….some wood finish cracking,… as noted from the photos.
