This is the classic British joiner’s plane for truing long edges and panels — the workhorse of every carpenter’s bench from the Victorian era right through to the mid-20th century. The cutting iron is clearly stamped with the famous Sheffield “Punch” trademark and reads “W. WARD” / “CAST STEEL” / “WARRANTED”.
