VERY RARE ORIGINAL YALE & TOWNE Y1 3 PIN NICKEL SILVER UNCUT KEY BLANK YALE #19 ILCO #999B NOS RARE! Antique NOS, New Old Stock. Authentic, OEM Yale & Towne Y1 a/k/a Yale #19, a/k/a Ilco 999B, 3 pin key blank. Made in the USA by the original Yale & Towne MFG Co., established in 1868. Fits many Yale door locks, several Yale padlocks and many 3rd party locks. Made in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Over 100 years old, these gorgeous original key blanks are made out of nickel-silver which resembles sterling silver. Nickel-silver also called German silver is stronger and more expensive than brass. And, it doesn’t tarnish as much or as fast as brass. Back then manufacturers chose nickel-silver over brass for higher quality items like these Yale key blanks. The keyway measures 3/4″ from shoulder to tip. The front side (thumb side) reads: YALE, THE YALE & TOWNE MFG. CO., very nice background texture, and has a blank area for stamping the lock number. The back side (finger side) reads: MADE IN U.S.A. and has a large area for custom stamping / engraving. Back in the day locksmiths often hand stamped their business name or some other custom information on the back side of cut keys. I have several other original Yale key blanks listed on eBay. Just go to my eBay store and search for Yale. These are Not reproductions, “Not like” or “the style of” or “copied from original” or “official authorized reproduction”. These are the real deal!
