The vise ,features a unique English retro shape & design . Extremely heavy and Solid .It is a CAST IRON handmade product. No marks / No information as to its origin. OUT of two parallel jaws ,one jaws is fixed and the other is movable by lever (The handle rod to operate is missing)It is permanently permanently bolted on a piece of wood.The gripping jaws are 3" L &Opens to just 2 cm Max..Moves freely and all works smoothly. Its wonders me, Such a solid vise, made of CI and fitted on extreme solid wood, just opens maximum 2 cm means it could grip a object of maximum 2 cm thick ?
