This vintage tool is a cant hook, often used in logging for rolling or positioning logs.It features a substantial hardwood handle and a pivoting, forged metal hook. Such tools are commonly used for rustic decor, sawmill operations, or managing firewood. Barn fresh, offering this cant hook, exactly as found in a barn in St. Mary's County Maryland, worm holes and all. There is a crack in the wood right where the metal is attached(as seen in the pictures) but the wood is still connected & attached. Would make a great display piece, approximately 24 inches long. Please look at all pictures and ask any questions before buying. Thanks for looking!
