A FOUNDER’S GRADE LEVER CAP for a Stanley No. 4 smooth plane or a No. 5 jack plane by STANLEY. This uncommon cap has the kidney-shaped opening for the frog screw, but it is not nickel plated like later versions and it does not have the orange japanning in the recess on the face of the iron.
