Very early, possibly first year made, Stanley no. 40 1/2 scrub plane. It does show the repair line. The cutter is quite short from use but is likely original to the plane. Thus, I believe this plane was likely made in 1902, or the first year of production.

Selling this set of 8 Stanley Everlast chisels number 40. The sizes in inches are 1.5, 1.25, 1, .75, .50, .50, .375, .25. They seem to be very sharp. The chisel that is 1.25 inches has a gap/space between the black Handel and the metal top. Any questions please ask

22 total tpi are covered, ranging from 9 thru 40 tpi. This pre-dates the twist locks and just uses rivets to hold the individual arms in place. Still opens and closes smoothly and all the gauge points are there and straight.

OBO. Pair of antique Stanley No. 40 folding pocket rules marked New Britain, Conn. U.S.A. Both retain clear graduations and original metal fittings. The joints remain tight and operate as they should. The rules show age, wear, discoloration, and patina consistent with long-term use and storage. Both fold properly and display well. Vintage Stanley Sweetheart No 40 Everlasting 7/8″” Bevel Edge Chisel-1911-’42!
Chisel is 7/8″ wide at the bevel end. The Stanley logo is prominently embossed on the blade and on the shaft with the sweetheart SW just touching the Stanley logo on the shaft. Patent dates legible on the shank are 7-28-08 & 8-24-09 indicating this Everlasting chisel is a Type 4?.
