Was lightly cleaned and waxed. I can see the end and the steel end looks to be good shape with no cracks, but don’t know what is under the tape.

The Reliance Edge tool Co., used a banner logo trade mark with RELIANCE. The chisel was recently obtained from a collector’s tool estate sale, the exact age is unknown.
T H Witherby 1-7/8″ wood gouge socket style handle framing or carving
The handle is owner made and rather wimpy for such a large gouge. It appears to have seen very little use since it was made, and the ferrule on the struck end is a brass bushing.
