This is an early timber framing slick wood chisel, made by the RUGG MFG CO., out of Greenfield, Mass., not sure of era. The chisel with handle inserted is 28 1/2” in overall length. The chisel itself is 14 1/4” in overall length and from the blade tip to the end of socket is 10 3/4”, the handle is 14” long.

The chisel is in good condition, super clean,…. not sure if handle is original or not,…. The blade is stamped??????????. (can’t make out top line), RICHARDSON & CO., CAST STEEL. The chisel is 17 1/4” in overall length, the blade is 11 3/4” long from the blade edge to the end of the socket, and the handle is 5 3/8” long.
