Doloires Antique French Cooper Carpenter Hewing Side Axe 18th 19th Century Axe

Super rare especially in the US. I believe the French word for this type of hewing axe hatchet is Doloires. It has a single bevel and was used for flattening. There are three makers marks. Two stars and one horse head. It is of a wrap around construction with the forge weld seen on the front and back side. It is quite old, my guess would be 1700’s. The handle is loose on the head but for display purposes it’s not falling off. Just the right amount of patina. I think this axe is a real beauty and belongs with someone who can truly appreciate its form, construction and history. Sorry but USA shipping only.
