Rare Large Heavy Antique Skeleton Key Hollow Barrel 4 1/2″ 4.5 ounces

This was common in olderwarded locks for doors, large cabinets, chests, trunks, gates, or furniture. The complex bit (the "teeth" end) engaged with internal wards (obstructions) to turn the bolt. This is a large antiquehollow-barrel (or pipe/barrel) skeleton key, likely from the late 19th to early 20th century (Victorian/Edwardian era), made of heavy brass or bronze.
