None of the individuals or websites have not positively identified this tool. Some have suggested PEXTO as the manufacturer. Others have offered Utica as its maker. It’s a well made tool. The flush head rivet secures the pivot point which has just enough play to allow proper slippage. The Side Cutter closes completely and the textured handle provides improved grip. Both PEXTO and Utica offered Slip-Joint Combination Pliers with Side Cutters. Utica made some of PEXTO’s pliers. Utica offered theirs with a flush rivet in the 1930s. Are we suggesting that this unnamed tool is Utica made in the 1930s? Nope. Just sayin’. The Pliers are moderately unusual and well made. There is a small amount of corrosion on the handles (see images) and we did only enough general cleaning to make identification possible . . . if it had been possible. Their place in Tool History is not going to be determined by us. We offer the Pliers as a potential everyday working tool or a fine addition to a show-and-tell. We will ship the Pliers by USPS First Class Mail on the next regular business day following receipt of payment.
