An ORIGINAL TWO-INCH WIDTH TAPERED CUTTING IRON AND CHIP BREAKER by Alex. Mathieson & Son, Glasgow, Scotland. This distinctively shaped cutter includes the original Mathieson chip breaker, which has a brass fitting inset in the center to receive the fixing screw to secure the chip breaker to the cutting iron. This old hardware stock tapered cutting iron and chip breaker are superb condition and could be put directly to use in an appropriate size plane or if you are making your own plane.
