George Mosher was granted patent 413,300, on October 22, 1889, for his “B” Plane. It is marked “B PLANE” in an arched mark, “PAT’D” faintly below that, and “OCT 22, 1889” below that. Condition is fair to good, with quite a bit of scattered pitting on both sides.

The total length of the shoe is 17 and a quarter inches long or expressed in centimeters that is 44.5 CM total length of the shoe. The total diameter of the shoe is 6.4 cm or 2.5 in. The total weight of the plane is 2.8 kilograms. Small chip to the top of the back handle and there is a little crack that runs into the front tote as you can see in the pictures.

It is marked with the later style of the STANLEY sweetheart logo (top of heart is flush with the bottom of the rectangle) and “MADE IN USA” below that. This would also fit the less common Stanley Number 57 or 58 or 59 spokeshaves, although only the Number 58 was in production long enough for this logo to be a proper logo for it.
