One is designated as 13/16 inch and the other 14/16 inch. The cutter retains its original central rod to affix the cutting iron to the plane. This cutter was produced as part of a set for the combination plow plane documented in the August 13, 1867 U.S. Patent of Russell Phillips of Gardiner, Maine. Very nice brace for brace and bit… early piece mid 1800s. Fully restored, found with a rare John Fray No 108 from collector estate. Makers marks not present or obsecured by restoration. Really nice hex square chuck. Brass fittings. Possible hickory fittings… similiar one also unattributed sold for 75 dollars recently.
