For sale is a vintage D.G.M. camp hatchet that belonged to a good friend of mine, It has a customary wood handle for hand tools of that era (riveted hardwood onto steel handle frame), It has the original painted ax head with an integrated hammer-head for driving tent stakes, The finish is all original with minor chipping of paint from light use, At some point in it’s life, someone modified the handle to remove the built-in screwdriver, which probably was a good idea to save laceration of one’s hand while swinging the handle, It measures 8-1/2″ x 3-1/2″, It is a very unique, well-balanced, lightweight and handy tool for carrying along, especially for backpack camping.
