Hand Made East Indian Rosewood Stanley Plane Tote & Knob for Stanley and Bedrock Planes The original Stanley’s were made from Brazilian rosewood which is cites 1 listed and prohibitively hard to get and extremely expensive. East Indian rosewood is, while still expensive, is a close alternative. It is just as hard and the color is a close match, in my opinion. I hand make these from solid wood. This Stanley No. 50 is in excellent condition and complete with all cutters, nuts, bolts, fences, nickers, etc. the box is is good condition as well with some minor wear. The original pamphlet and shipping envelopes for the small parts are all still present as well.

Vintage Stanley Rule & Level Company No. 2 Smooth Bench Plane – Nice Rosewood

I’m unsure on the type and year but I’m guessing its pre 1915. The wood is in good condition just has smearing dont see any cracks. The sole is 7 1/2″ long and 2″ wide. The bottom of the sole has some paint or varnish residue then the rest of it just has some patina and light rust. View photos for further details.
