Brass topped and tipped No.1209 8" Narrow Ebony Level seen in the 1909 Preston catalogue. Vial is intact with bubble. Top and feet at end are brass, surface smooth with good patina. Inscribed WARRANTED CORRECT and E PRESTON & SONS B'HAM ENG, with Preston's Two Cherries logo. On the same side of the stock is stamped 'TRADE MARK "QUIXSI" REGISTERED' No 1209' Body is dense close grained hardwood, with a reddish tinge to the dark colour.
