The Crescent Tool Company made a wide assortment of forged hand tools but became best known for its Crescent Adjustable Wrench which it began making in the early 20th Century. Pliers filled multiple pages in the Company’s Catalogs and we found the 1033-6 in Catalogs from 1935 (https://archive.org/details/crescent-tool-co-catalog-23/page/n7/mode/2up?q=crestoloy) through the late 1950s (https://archive.org/details/crescent-tool-co-catalog-29/page/n31/mode/2up?q=crestoloy) all of which were stamped similarly to this Long Nose. We know from a discussion on Alloy Artifacts (http://alloy-artifacts.org/crescent-tool.html#diag) that in the 1970s “JAMESTOWN, N.Y.” no longer appeared with “CRESCENT TOOL COMPANY” and a Plier’s part number. Thus we conclude that this 1033-6 was made no later than the 1970s and probably between 1930s and 1950s. The Long Nose Pliers are in good condition and could be put to work once more or with light cleaning made suitable for a show-and-tell collection. The Pliers will easily last another fifty-plus years. We will ship the 1033-6 by USPS 1st Class Mail on the next regular business day following receipt of payment.
