J Buck Holborn Viaduct - Greenwich Inlaid - Sterling & Welch Co - Billhook/Linoleum Knife 1800s Interesting double/triple stamped billhook/linoleum knife Stamps read Greenwich Inlaid - Sterling & Welch Co. - J Buck Holborn Viaduct J Buck was a London England tool maker in the mid to late 1800s. It appears they exported the knife to Sterling & Welch in Cleveland Ohio (seller of floor coverings and curtains) who in turn stamped it with their name and Greenwich Inlaid who were linoleum makers in the same time period having a factory on Staten Island in the early 1870s. GUESSING this knife to have been made between the 1870's to 1890's Knife is in Antique USED condition. Knife shows honest wear in the form of pitting to the blade, surface rust/corrosion, scratches, scuffs, marks, nicks and dings. End of the handle is dinged and a bit separated. Overall still a solid knife considering it is over 100 years old. Please review all photos and judge for yourself. Use ZOOM feature for close ups.
