Note: G-297 is my inventory # only. This is a set up for large truck repair and heavy equipment. Please do not ask to sell any of the components separately. Read entire listing. Here is a excellent working vintage Lowell Wrench Co. (later ones just are marked Lowell Corp) No. 4-1/2 LARGE ratchet. This one is 1" female drive. It comes with a knurled top, shop made and hardened 1" drive plug. Also it can be used as a 3/4" drive ratchet with the MYERS/5, 1" to 3/4" coupler and 3/4" drive plug included in this listing. This setup requires using o-rings and pins (or retainers) to retain your socket from falling off the ratchet and adapters. There are some pins and o-rings included to handle most of your needs. The ratchet is reversible by turning the knurled knob on the bottom. Turn it fully clockwise or CCW to change directions. Also you can easily just reverse the direction by flipping it over. This particular model has a 16 tooth drive gear. I took it apart, cleaned it, inspected it, greased it with synthetic grease and put it back together. It works excellent. The ratchet is 26-1/2" long. There are some light usage marks on the handle and head cosmetic only. Lowell ratchets are beasts. Look how wide the lugs are on the 16 tooth gear. If you work on heavy equipment you can't go wrong here with these ratchets that were built like a tank back then. Great ratchet setup for those operating a mobile service truck. My Opinion on Grease vs. Oil in a ratchet:For older ratchets and ratchets with heavier duty pawl springs grease it superior in a closed head ratchet for a few reasons. It makes the ratchet quieter, smoother, and offers much better corrosion resistance than a thin film of oil. Synthetic grease doesn't get hard over time like the old greases used to. Most modern ratchets have weak pawl springs and they can't overcome the resistance of grease, so use oil in those models. Grease is superior for long term storage. Just my opinion for using these things for 50 years. USPS Shipping to 50 US States Only.NO Foreign Shipping!
