Leonard Bailey was awarded patent 185,280, on December 12, 1876 for his cutter adjuster. Bailey Victor plane irons were normally 1-3/4" or wider, and I'm not sure what this fits. It is marked with a football shaped mark, with "L BAILEY'S" on the top arched line, "PATENT" in the middle straight line, and "DEC 12, 18." on the bottom reverse arched line.
