Really nice salt basement workshop fresh, just wiped down original ane well used Stanley Bailey NO 5 Plane made in USA. This is the type 16 made between 1933-1941. It is in very good shape, blade is clean w no chips or damage, it has a overall level of surface rust but no deep pitting or damage. Both handles were heabioy used and it appears ths black finish was purposely removed. The back handle appears to have been slightly chipped or shortened on top and then refinished... It is a nice piece exhibit wear and age but a survivor and a little elbow grease will have it back up and running in your woodshop... a clean serviceable piece
