I had not been to the Speaker Shop in Amherst Ny in quite a while. Like maybe 20 years. I’m not really sure. I found myself driving by today so I took a few minutes to have a look. They even invited me upstairs to look around in the ultra high end area. Downstairs in … Read More
Some great info on setting up a listening room. Speaker placement, wall treatments etc. Basic, but good info.
This is a really cool video about setting up a dedicated listening room.
Here is a classic video about Infinity Speakers. Infinity Speaker Technology Explained – Video Features the Classic Infinity Speaker Model Line of the late 80’s when Infinity was still run by the two Original Founders Arnie Nudell and Cary Christie!
Here are some of the pages of the 1982 Tech HiFi catalog. They did a great job of showing their products being used and offering something at every price point. I just about wore this catalog out in 1982. (These pages are being shared under Fair Use and we do not own the information … Read More
This is the back of the Tech HiFi catalog, listing all of their locations.
I have been saving this since 1982. I looked at this just about everyday as a teenager.
I believe this came with the Kg2’s I bought from a friend. (This brochure is show for education purposes only under fair use. We do not own the copyright to this manual)
This was a refoam job I did on my Infinity Kappa 6. I would guess they were about 20 years old at the time. I had not used the speakers in a while and they were in the basement. I was mortified when I first saw them. These were the only tools needed after getting … Read More
Not sure these count as vintage but they are great speakers. I have these hooked up to my computer in my office. Have had them about 10 years now. They sound terrific. My only complaint is the switch on the front to shut them off is very cheesy feeling.
I had wanted one of these set ups REALLY bad as a kid. Stumbled on it at the thrift shop not long ago. Works pretty well but the left channel seems to be out. So I am running 2 speakers from the right.
Got these a few years ago. had them outside for a while, then we resided the house and have not hung them back up yet. I was not super happy with the sound from these. Have to give them another try.
This was my basement set up while in High School. A friend and I had a mobile DJ system and we set up this “home radio station” set up in the basement. Lots of hours of fun down there.
I literally used to buy these by the case.
This was my audio set up in my bedroom as a teenager. I built the rack and the speaker stands as well as the accessory shelf on the wall. I got these Klipsch KG2’s sometime in the late 80’s – early 90’s. They were perfect. Just the right size, they pack an incredible punch. Really enjoyed them greatly. But I just had too many speakers and something had to go. I sold them about 10 years ago now. Miss them often.
I picked these up at a garage sale for $35. They were in pretty good shape. I didn’t keep them. Have too many sets of speakers already. : )
These were the first pair of speakers I ever bought new. I think it was about 1992 or so when I got them. I was working for a large stereo store so I was able to get them at just about cost. I seem to recall they retailed for $699 each. I re foamed them … Read More
I LOVED this turntable. My dad bought it for me when I was about 14 or 15 years old for $250. It was used from a serviceman who had purchased it from the PX in Germany. It was Very highly regarded and would play standing up or on it side, even upside down. I had … Read More
