Duro-Chrome (X-Circle) 1033-C 15/16 x 1 DOE Wrench World War II era GMTK
World War II GMTK correct 41-W-1021 Duro Metal Products began business in the mid-1910s. During its history Duro manufactured high quality tools. Duro and Indestro began a loose (or not so loose) working relationship whereby Duro made the pricier items while Indestro produced identical or very similar products for a lesser price. Both companies produced well-made, long-lasting tools. What is referred to as the “X-Circle” logo is actually a stylized “DC” for Duro-Chrome. It is most commonly found on World War II era devices which were commonly plain metal or cadmium plated and often showed lesser quality finishing such can be seen along the shaft of this Wrench. Despite the finish, this is a high quality Wrench. It is, also, as noted above, a correct Wrench for World War II GMTK, General Mechanic’s Tool Kit, a generalized name. More properly, “Tool Set, Complete with Tools, Motor Vehicle Mechanic’s, 44-T-3538”, the set of tools provided to mechanics providing I-might-as-well-be-in-the-infantry vehicle repair and support. The Wrench is in good condition and should respond well to proper cleaning. It could easily be put back to work or better yet, fit easily into a show-and-tell collection. We will ship the Wrench by USPS Priority Mail on the next regular business day following receipt of payment
