This is a Lufkin Rule Company 100 ft Engineers / Surveyors steel measure tape. The numbering is in the engineers or station marking style of stamped steel. It was made early in the 20th century, before World War ll. It has honest wear consistent with age and use. The tape has surface rust, a light sticky residue from long-term storage, oxidation, accumulated dust and a darkened patina. It does work, the tape extends and retracts. It is well used but intact.
