The toe of the plane features a clear maker's mark reading "J. H. LAMB / NEW BEDFORD". J.H. Lamb operated out of New Bedford, Massachusetts, during the mid-to-late 19th century (circa 1840s–1870s). The included double iron (cutter and chip breaker) features a crown logo and is stamped "SPEAR & JACKSON / SJ / WARRANTED CAST STEEL", a famous Sheffield, England edge-tool manufacturer.
