Very good with damaged handle. Pliny Merrill started producing edge tools in Hinsdale, NH in 1840. Within the decade, Merrill’s nephew, George S. Wilder, joined the company, became manager, and a partner in 1858. At that time, the company stamped their tools “Merrill & Wilder.” According to the sources, the imprint “Merrill & Wilder” was used after C. E. Jennings took over the company in the early 1880s.
