An ORIGINAL ROSEWOOD REAR HANDLE for a Sargent No. 409 nine-inch length smooth plane by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. This handle came from an early No. 409 produced before Sargent transitioned to the use of mahogany handles. It is in excellent condition and could be put directly to use.
