An extremely rare and exceptionally well preserved "TYPE 1" CAST IRON PLANE BODY for a Sargent No. 424 pre-lateral jointer plane by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. Fully 90% of the original black japan finish remains on this extra clean plane body, which is absent any chips, cracks or other apologies.
